Digital Enterprise Solutions, Inc. is Hiring a Remote SQL Server Database Administrator
Digital Enterprise Solutions, Inc. (DESI) is seeking SQL Server DBA to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This is a Full Time (Regular) Exempt (Salary) position located in Patuxent River, MD 20670. This is a hybrid position with telework allowed. Candidate will be required to work onsite at Patuxent River, MD 2-5 days per month and must reside within ~90 miles of Patuxent River, MD.
ROLES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, configure, upgrade, and administer SQL Server database engine, SQL Server Service Broker, SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Analysis Services, and/or SQL Server Reporting Services.
- Configure SQL Server instances and ensure compliance to DoD STIGs.
- Work with software engineers to test databases and schemas.
- Configure database backups in accordance with customer requirements.
- Perform database recoveries as required.
- Perform daily checks of databases, backups, exports, jobs, and storage.
- Troubleshoot databases, schemas, and user accounts.
To be considered for this position, you must meet the education and experience listed below:
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- AA/AS degree and 3 years relevant experience OR high school diploma and 3 years’ experience.
- Bachelor's or Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar is preferred.
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Database administration experience working with SQL Server 2016/2019.
- Experience with performance tuning and query optimization required.
- CompTIA Security certification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- US Citizenship is required due to US government contract requirement.
- Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SSBI.
Candidates with experience or knowledge in these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
- Active TS/SSBI clearance
- SQL Server certification(s).
- Active SECRET clearance.
